In collaboration with many major corporations, CFM Impianti have developed pneumatic loaders for the safe, dust-free handling of products such as diatomaceous earths and perlites.

Due to the nature of diatomaceous earth (d.e.), serious health concerns are being raised - especially regarding the inhalation of air-borne particles. These units aim to eliminate these particles from the workplace by transferring the product directly from its bag into a mixing tank, in a completely controlled and confined manner.

 Seen in the top picture is the Pneumatic Loader model PL 300. This unit is capable of transferring 300 kg of d.e. per hour, and is ideal for smaller filters. The unit is mounted directly onto the mixing tank, and a probe is used to pump the earth directly from a small bag into the tank.

The picture to the left shows a larger unit, namely the PL 800. This unit is capable of transferring up to 800 kg/hr, and has the capability of being connected directly to a bulk-bag system. Unlike its smaller counterpart, this unit is mounted on a mobile base, and can be used to service more than one machine.

As can be seen from this picture, the operator merely has to insert the probe into the bag of earth. This system eliminates the age-old tradition of mounting the bag on your shoulder and dumping the earth directly into the mixing tank, often creating a large cloud of dust.
